John Patrick Oroho, Executive Vice President, Porzio Pharmaceutical Services, spoke at CBI's Medical Device and Diagnostics Marketing Compliance Congress on June 17, 2008 in Arlington, VA.
His presentation, entitled “Monitoring and Tracking Spend - A Review of State and Federal Requirements,” discussed how in light of recent enforcement activities and resulting CIAs, monitoring and tracking healthcare professional spend has become a top concern for medical device companies. Proposed federal legislation would also impose tracking and reporting requirements. Additionally, individual states have started to develop marketing compliance laws specific to each state. All of this activity has created confusion and a potential for non-compliance for medical device companies.
